Why examination matters in ENT

Ear, nose and throat diagnosis depends on physical examination — otoscopy, nasal endoscopy and laryngoscopy — and frequently on audiology or imaging. These cannot be performed remotely, and an opinion offered without them would be unsafe.

What we cannot do remotely

• Diagnose a condition from a description, photograph or voice note.
• Issue or repeat prescriptions, sick notes or referral letters.
• Interpret scans or reports for someone who is not a patient of the practice.
• Provide second opinions without a consultation.

What the rooms can help with

Appointment scheduling, general practice information, account queries, and administrative follow-up after a consultation.
